Steps to create xml sitemap for Blogger:




Step-1: You can create your sitemap by visiting third part sitemap generator websites or you can edit the sitemap code provided below.


Step-2: Now after copying the sitemap from third party website or changing your URL in the below provided sitemap code.


Step-3: Now you need to login to your blogger account by your credentials.


Step-4: After opening the blogger dashboard, you need to click on Setting button.


Step-5: Now in settings you need to scroll till you see "Crawlers and Indexing".


Step-6: Here below the heading you can see  "Custom robots.txt" click edit.


Step-7: Now paste the sitemap which you have edited or created from any third party sitemap generator websites.


Step-8: Click on Save Changes button.


Step-9: Now you have to open Google Search Console.


Step-10: Here you need to first choose URL Prefix by entering the URL of your website and click on continue button.


Step-11: Now after that you will some options, there you need to select Sitemaps.


Step-12: Here you will see a text box with a placeholder Enter  sitemap URL.


Step-13: Now you have to enter "sitemap.xml" and for WordPress you need to enter another URL i.e. "sitemap_index.xml"


Step-14: After entering the URL click on Submit, now you after that you will get a popup message that google periodically track your websites. now after 1 or 2 days your website will be indexed in the google search and it is available for the visitors to visit your website.



Now you have successfully added your xml sitemap in your blogger website and submitted your sitemap to Google Search Console.



Note: The above steps will be same for the blogspot.com websites and custom domain websites, so both websites can add xml sitemap by the above steps.


For WordPress websites you can use Yoast SEO Tool to generate your website XML sitemap and then follow the above steps to submit sitemap in Google Search Console.
