Step-1: First of all you need to login to your WordPress website dashboard by using your login credentials.

Step-3: Now you need to click on Install and then activate it.

Step-4: Go back to your WordPress website dashboard and click on settings and select "Big File Upload" option.

Step-6: Increase the default upload size from the text box and after select whether you want in MB or GB and after modification, click on Save button.

Step-7: Now you need come back to WordPress website dashboard and click on Media and then select Add New, here you can see that the maximum upload size will change to your entered upload size.

Steps to Increase Upload File Size in WordPress by Hosting Panel

Here I am going to tell you about Hostinger hosting panel to increase the upload file size.

Step-1: First of all you need to login to your hosting dashboard by using your login credentials.

Step-2: Now under Advance click on PHP - Configurations.

Step-3: From here click on PHP options.

Step-4: In this page you need to scroll till end of the page and there you can see an option called "Upload Maximum File Size".

Step-5: Here you can select the maximum upload size from the default sizes provided by Hostinger and also they have restricted to a maximum file upload size of 256 MB. So, in that case you need to contact hosting provider to increase the upload file maximum size.

Step-6: If you want a maximum upload size less than 256 MB, then you don't need to install any plugin, you can directly go to your hosting panel and increase your maximum upload size limit.
