Steps to Submit WordPress Sitemap in Bing Webmaster Tools
Step-1: Login to Bing Webmaster Tools Dashboard
First of all you need to login to your Bing webmaster tools account dashboard by using your login credentials.
Step-2: Creating of Sitemap in WordPress
I hope that you have already generated WordPress sitemap by using Yoast SEO plugin.
If you not yet created sitemap for your WordPress website then you can use the plugin called Yoast SEO and to do setup, you can refer YouTube videos or any other articles.
Below is the sitemap for WordPress Websites will be like this:
https://example.com/sitemap_index.xml
The above sitemap will be created by using Yoast SEO Plugin and also you can use other plugins too, but most WordPress websites use Yoast SEO plugin.
Step-3: Bing Webmaster Tools Dashboard
You need to open Bing webmaster tools account dashboard and in the dashboard you can see few options at the left hand side like:
- Home
- Search Performances
- Sitemaps
- URL Submission
- SEO
- Configuration
- Tools and Enhancements
- Security and Privacy
- User Management
- URL Inspection
Here you need to click on Sitemaps.
Step-4: Adding Sitemap in Bing Webmaster Tools
After clicking on sitemaps options, you will be redirected to a new webpage, here you need to click on Submit Sitemap button.
After clicking a popup open and ask you to enter your sitemap created.
As you have already created sitemap for WordPress website by using Yoast SEO plugin, you need to copy that created sitemap as shown in step-2, and paste the copied sitemap in the textbox and click on submit.
After submission of the sitemap, you will get a green color success message on the screen.
Note
After submitting the sitemap, it will show status as processing, and after 3 to 4 hours it will automatically changes to success.
After submitting the sitemap you should get success message, if success message not showing on the screen and any warning shows then you need to re-submit the sitemap again.
If your submitting sitemap showing processing from 1 or more days then you need to deleted the submitted sitemap and need to submit a new sitemap by follow the same process.
If you get any error or issue while doing the process then you need to sign-out and sign-in to your Bing webmaster tools account.
